What can you expect to receive when you become a Borrowell member?
1. Your monthly credit score refresh
You’ll receive your updated free credit score emailed to you each month. We’ll let you know if your credit score is improving or if it could use a little tender loving care. We’ll even keep track of how you’re doing overtime with our CreditTracker tool.
2. Your full Equifax credit report (also free!)
When you log in to your credit dashboard, you’ll also see the “Credit Report” tab at the top of the page beside the credit score tab. You can think of your credit report as your financial report card because it gives you insights into your credit health. On your credit report you’ll find:
- Credit inquiries – check who has made any inquiries about your credit and if you’ve authorized these checks.
- Credit utilization – check how much of your available credit you’re currently using. Pro tip: try to keep your total credit card utilization under 30%.
- Trades and accounts – see important information about the different accounts in your name, all in one place.
3. Personalized product recommendations
It’s the perfect time for you to get your free credit score available in Alberta from Borrowell, because our recommendations engine is stronger than ever! When you get your credit score, you can navigate to the right side of your dashboard and click on the “My Recommendations” tab.
You’ll see personalized financial products tailored to your unique credit profile. We only recommend products we think will help you improve your credit score or your financial well-being.
4. Credit articles and education
Borrowell’s mission is to help Canadians make great decisions about credit. In order to fulfill this mission, we understand credit education has a large role to play. This is why we’ve focused much of our education efforts on our blog, The Well.

Wait a minute. How does Borrowell make money?
Great question. As a financial technology company, transparency is key. Our business generates revenue by recommending products such as low-interest personal loans, savings accounts, and other financial products based on your unique credit profile and financial goals. If you take a product we recommend, that company pays us a referral fee. We also offer our own personal loan product and we earn a fee on each loan.
If you’re not interested, that’s totally fine – we’re still happy to provide you with your credit score for free. Hopefully, over time, we’ll recommend something you’ll find useful. If not, we’re happy to help you learn about and improve your credit score.
